Details
The Mitchelton 'Victoria Series` Shiraz is a real tasty treat. Mouth-filling and round with flavours of blackberries, plum, and liquorice spice. This wine is bright and fruity, and carries firm yet approachable tannins, making each sip feel juicy and deliciously while still backed with power.
Origin: The first recognised wines were made in the Rhone Valley and south-eastern France. Mainly Grown In: One of the world’s leading grapes, it is found in France, Australia, the USA, Argentina and South Africa. Key Facts: Shiraz is a world-beater. Starting small in the southern reaches of France, it has spread to all corners of the world, and is known for producing some of the world’s great red wines, capable of perfume, power and persistence. Local versions are luscious and fruity, loaded with plum, raisin and plenty of oaky richness. European expressions however can be more savoury and tend towards flavours of olive, black cherry and pepper. Both are equally delicious, and are simply a matter of taste! Fun Fact: There are many faces to Shiraz, but typically when grown in a cooler area, it will display more lavender and peppery notes. Where as when from a warm climate, more juicy even jammy fruit.

Pairing guide
We all know that when it comes to barbecues with your mates, nothing pairs as well with your burgers, chops, ribs, and steaks than a great bottle of Shiraz, and we reckon this juicy one from Mitchelton is no exception. Something about this wine just loves juicy meats and pepper. However, this wine can do a whole lot more - it’s also a beautiful pairing for chickpea curries like chana masala, hard cheeses like gouda, vegetables grilled and tossed with a strong dressing, and braised or casseroled duck, too!

Wine region

Victoria, Australia
Victoria is the second smallest state but is home to more regions and individual wineries than any other state in Australia. This is thanks to the diversity of regional and micro climates, that allow for the every imaginable wine style under the sun, from stylish and refined Chardonnay (Beechworth) to brooding, finessed Shiraz (Heathcote); intense and complex Pinot Noir (Macedon Ranges) to unique and decadent fortified (Rutherglen), you’ll find a wine to suit any occasion from the diverse regions of Victoria.
