Details
This Tempranillo rosé pours as clean and pure on the palate as its planet-friendly certifications. Made from sustainably-grown grapes, located in the continental region of Uclés in central Spain, this wine reflects exactly what we want to see from this famous Spanish red varietal.
Plenty of ripe and juicy berry flavours like raspberry, strawberry and cherry, and around, medium body. Also, thanks to the cool evenings this region is known for, there's still a good smack of acidity to keep the scene refreshing and in balance.
Origin: The spiritual home of rosé is Provence, in Southern France. Mainly Grown In: Rosé is found all over the world these days, but coastal regions are especially are well suited to the growing of red grapes for rosé. Key Facts: Rosé is predominantly made from red grape varieties. The colour in wine is actually from pigments found in the skins of the grapes, so even red grapes have clear-coloured juice. The colour is then ‘bled’ out of the skins by infusing the skins into the juice. So for rosé, the wine simply spends far less time hanging out with the skins! Rarely you will find a rosé that is a combo of white and red grapes – they’re not ‘less good’, just less common. Rosé is super versatile – it suits any occasion. Best to always have a bottle in the fridge, just in case, you know….Wednesday happens or something. This Tempranillo rosé pours as clean and pure on the palate as its planet-friendly certifications. Pairing guide
Ooh, this stunning pink wine made from superb Tempranillo grapes is really hitting all the right spots, even if we’re no longer in the heady heights of summer. We love this wine with grilled fish fillets, light salads, and simple pasta dishes. It’s also going to pair really well with dishes combining cheese and ham, from your humble sandwich to a homemade quiche lorraine. Nice!

Wine region

Uclés, Spain
Uclés is a wine region located in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, 100km east of Spain’s capital city, Madrid. Although the Uclés is dominated by larger producers, making mostly simple fruity styles of Tempranillo and Verdejo, the region shows lots of potential for its high elevation (up to 900m above sea level) and dry conditions, ideal for premium grape growing.
The soils in Uclés are primarily composed of clay and limestone, which provide good drainage and help the grapes ripen to optimal maturity. The region also has a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, which helps to produce wines with good acidity and complex flavours. Some of the well-known wineries in the region include Bodegas y Viñedos Uclés, Bodegas y Viñedos Real de Aragón, and Bodega San Isidro.
The Uclés region is known for producing high-quality exceptional value red wines made from the Tempranillo (known locally as Cencibel), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Garnacha and whites including Verdejo, Chardonnay, Moscatel de Grano Menudo, Sauvignon blanc, and Macabeo. We expect bright future for this region.
