Details
A meaty, deep wine, with lots to offer! It balances the spicy and peppery aromas of Shiraz with the intense fruitiness of the Grenache. Then there's a little tickle of earthiness from the dash of Mourvedre. Slightly tannic, it has a broad array of flavours that make it very versatile with food matching.

Winegrowers that split their energy between the regions of between Rhône and Provence, Marrenon is a reference point for skillfully blended, authentic French countryside wines. Since 1965 they have utilised a large patchwork of vineyards to create layers in their wines, utilising a range of varieties and regions to bring complexity to traditional blends. They refer to this as a mosaic of terroirs - the mythical mountains, Luberon to the south and Ventoux to the North, forge the character of these appellations: maximum exposure to the sun, tempered by the altitude and the thermal amplitude thanks to the proximity of the Southern Alps, gentle slopes and limestone hillsides, rolling hills exposed to the benefits of the Mistral wind. All these factors produce outstanding blends, orchestrated with the precision of a watchmaker by Philippe Tolleret.

Pairing guide
Reliable, deeply flavourful, and beautifully drinkable, Cotes du Rhone is a wine that’s just made for fantastic food pairing possibilities. Traditionally, this classic French red blend is served with game - and it definitely hits the high notes when enjoyed alongside wild boar, roasted game birds, and venison. However, it’s every bit as good with more easily-accessible ingredients, ranging from grilled beef and lamb dishes, barbecued burgers, and dishes featuring wild mushrooms and eggplant. It’s also a real winner with baked camembert, and will elevate any cheese board to new heights of deliciousness!
