Details
La Francette rosé is a nice blend of Cinsault and Grenache which has produced a style of wine that you would be happy to drink on the bonnet of an old Citroen with the sea breeze in your hair and a newspaper wrapped fish & chips. Red fruited with a nice savoury finish that will be sure to draw the eye of jealous passers-by.

The French wine scene can be somewhat of a minefield at times, all we really want is a supplier that makes wines from all across the country while still displaying regional and sub-regional typicity.. Simple right?!? Well, enter Maison Johanès Boubée which is a winery that has succeeded in the French landscape, while relatively unknown outside its borders. The winery has access to all the goodies around the country and aside from an impressive winemaking team, it also has employed sommeliers to taste each wine to confirm it meets that all important terroir feel of each region. The winery is a nod to the old-school way, where you didn’t need to boast a fancy label to sell a bottle of wine and the juice inside is the most important part. We have tasted through a large range of their wines and are very impressed with the overall quality in each bottle. We like to think of the ‘La Francette’ range as the little French range, there are your classic little French rosé, or the white blend or even a typical red blend. It’s not big, but don’t underestimate it.

Pairing guide
We can’t get enough of this gorgeous rosé from Maison Johanès Boubée - it’s the perfect blend of bright freshness with soft summer fruit flavours, and the kind of bite which never fails to lead to excellent food pairing versatility. While the traditionalist in us wants to pair this wine with poached salmon fillets in a creamy sauce, a seafood rice dish or a bistro classic like tartare, fennel Toulouse sausages and a cheese selection… we also reckon this is a top pairing for Asian fried rice dishes, Thai red curries and spicy noodles. Grilled capsicums, grilled satay skewers, and Chinese-style prawns will also pair very well indeed.
