Details
Mac Forbes has such a deft hand with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, releasing so many wonderfully lively and lucid expressions of Yarra Valley wine. This Yarra Junction wine comes from a lower, warmer part of the Yarra, but don't be fooled - this is a light and lithe wine of beauty and effortlessness. Grapefruit, a little twist of herbs, white flowers and a real prettiness. It's a Chardonnay of grace and purity, with more than a little modern Chard funk and swagger.
Mac Forbes is one of the shining lights in the Yarra Valley. Born and bred in the region, he grew up surrounded by vines and started his winery in 2004. Mac oozes cool with his tight curly locks and laid-back persona that would find him right at home on a surfboard and in a vineyard. Don’t let his dangerous good locks distract you from the amazing impact he is having on the region! His philosophy on winemaking is to put as much care into the vineyard as possible and let the wine reflect the place (that all-important terroir). Indeed, Mac's range of single-vineyard and single-area wines highlights the different moods of the Yarra, with a focus on cooler vineyards and lesser-known parts of the Yarra and letting the site shine through rather than letting too much winemaking get in the way.

Pairing guide
This beautiful Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley really showcases the incredible terroir that Mac Forbes traverses with his wine. Packed full of freshness, while still exhibiting plenty of body, this stunning white wine is going to be a hit at the dinner table when paired with lighter dishes. It’s going to be especially good with turkey and chicken cooked simply (or dishes which use leftovers from your roast!), mushrooms in cream sauces, fresh pasta with buttery sauces, and most white fish.
