Details
Welcome to the grown-up world of great rosé. Tapping into a treasure trove of Hilltops grapes, this beautiful pale and savoury rosé is made mainly from Nebbiolo with a smattering of other Italian red grapes. This dry and subtly powerful wine has all these lovely blood orange and raspberry notes with a long and finessed finish.
What an absolute delight it is to introduce M + B Wines, the new label for Marcelle Freeman, who has banded with a group of wine friends (including a famous mystery winemaker) to deliver a range of distinctive and delicious drinks that we're mighty proud to now have at Good Pair Days. Marcelle runs the Freeman Vineyards property with her legendary winemaker father Brian (who headed up the Charles Sturt University wine department for a decade) in the NSW Hilltops near Young. The large mosaic of vineyards that the Freeman family controls includes some of the most important plantings of alternative grape varieties in Australia, including the country's only plantings of two legendary Italian varieties, Rondinella and Corvina. Oh yes, the Freemans are a big deal in the grape world, and this new project label from Marcelle delivers all the charisma and energy that we'd expect!

Pairing guide
Such a savoury and sophisticated style of rosé really means that this wine will step up to more serious flavour depths. Tomato pasta bakes, pink lamb, rare duck breast and homemade burgers will all work a treat with this clever wine, though the real champion pair is to go for pizzas and a quality Italian antipasto plate. Artichokes, eggplants, anything pickled, and a full array of different flavours of cured meats and cheese will all find a happy home when served up with this cracking modern rosé..
