Details
A plush mix of Shiraz, Mourvedre & Grenache from across the Coastal Region, this red blend is suave and impressive. The Shiraz leads a bouquet of flavours - dark fruits, red fruits, allspice & vanilla - alongside gentle, velvety tannins which further soften as the wine breathes. Plush and marvellous.

Lubanzi is part delicious wine company and part social responsibility project by do-gooders Charlie Brain and Walker Brown. One day, while living in South Africa as US exchange students. En route to visit Nelson Mandela’s hometown, a wandering dog the locals, called ‘LUBANZI' began following them for a whole six days and 100 miles. The name stuck, as did their gratitude and warmth towards the country and people. The boys launched Lubanzi (the business, not the dog) in 2016. To give back to their new home, they partner with not-for-profits like the Pebbles Project to directly provide health education resources to the families who live and work on South Africa's wine farms. 50% of profits go back to the hands that made it! Lubanzi is also Fair Trade certified, carbon neutral, and a proud member of the 1% for the Planet Initiative. For those who love to ‘talk dirt’, the vineyards (Swartland, West Cape) are on hilltops of decomposed granite and shale, and fruit is handpicked, hand sorted and fermented naturally. So whether you’re enjoying their Chenin Blanc or SGM blend, expect these wines to be bright and brimming with energy… like how you feel with all the good karma that comes with these wines. You’re an angel!

Pairing guide
The Cinsault scene in South Africa has really taken off in recent years, and this beautiful release from Lubanzi is a great example of how and why that’s come about. It’s the kind of wine to crack open when big flavours are on the table - we’re talking slow-cooked cuts of falling-off-the-bone red meat, wild mushrooms, garlic-slicked vegetables and grilled steaks. It’s also a top pairing for wild mushrooms, strong cheeses, olives and roast eggplant and zucchini… just don’t be shy when it comes to dialling up those taste sensations!
