Details
A rich, dense wine that really packs a punch. Dark and meaty, the fruit here is only part of the story. There's oak and earth and tannin and it all comes together in a hefty package. Look for notes of dried fig, sultana and chocolate. Heavy but not overboard.

Nicholas Crampton is aware of the benefits of organic viticulture, not only for the resultant wine, but for the earth itself. However, managing large areas of vineyards organically is incredibly hard work, not to mention time and capital consuming! So he created the Love not War range of wines - all made from organic vineyards, however Crampton buys all of the fruit from small growers who manage their plot of land with love and care. He simply steps in and turns that fruit into honest wine. Everyone wins. Obviously no pesticides are used in any of the vineyards, but this careful methodology carries through into the winemaking. Lower levels of preservatives are used, the wines are all vegan, and the results really speak for themselves. This model of business also allows wines to be made from not only different regions, but in fact different countries - the Sangiovese from central Italy, the Pinot Noir from southern France etc etc. This is an innovative approach to a common problem many wineries have - solved, naturally.

Pairing guide
Love Not War has a masterful way of bringing out the very best in their wide range of delicious grape varietals, and this charmingly characterful Tempranillo is no exception. When it comes to food pairing, we love this bold red wine with the smoky flavour of roasted tomatoes, paprika, and chargrilled meats - the kind of rustic, Mediterranean fare that never fails to put a smile on our faces! It’s also a great wine for pairing with minced beef or lamb creations, Mexican cuisine, and cured meats like chorizo. Corn-based dishes always work well with this wine, and you’ll get plenty of praise should you bring this bottle to your next barbecue, too!
