Details
This Blanc de Blancs is suffused with radiance - it's like a ray of refreshment for any occasion. Look for plenty of citrus and pear, and the finish sparkles with lively acidity that makes the flavours elongate across the palate. There's also complexing notes of butter pastry, grilled nuts and chalk. Great stuff.
Laherte Frères was founded in 1889 in the small village of Chavot-Courcourt on the Côteaux Sud d’Épernay, in the south of Épernay, in the heart of Champagne. Initially growing and selling grapes to the local cooperative, the Laherte family steadily expanded their estate over generations and began bottling champagne under their eponymous label when Thierry and Christian Laherte, brothers and sixth generation vignerons, became proprietors. Now, Aurélien Laherte, Thierry’s son, represents the seventh generation and heads the entire family domaine. These days, it is a commonly-held view that Aurélien Laherte is one of the most talented vignerons of his generation in Champagne. The range of wines that he crafts - and they are very much wines first and Champagnes second - is absolutely brilliant, with no misses. They are wines to savour and enjoy.

Pairing guide
A Blanc de Blancs Champagne is never an unwelcome sight at a celebration dinner or festive feast, and this glorious bottle from Lahertes is absolutely no exception. It’s a top-notch pairing for more luxuriant creamy pasta dishes, treats featuring lobster or crab with a fiery chilli and lime twist, and all kinds of roast chicken or turkey dinners. It’s also excellent with prawns tossed with a mango slaw, scallops with papaya and other tropical fruit-meets-seafood delights. Fritto misto, tempura zucchini and caviar blinis are, of course, all more than fitting pairings to explore.

Wine region

Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
