Details
The first single vineyard Piedmont Moscato, Bricco Quaglia is a sublime example of just how deliciously pure Moscato can be. It smells of peach, musk sticks and some tropical fruits, with a very lively palate that is wonderfully fresh. It's an extremely fresh, clean and lively wine that at once manages to be bright and pretty and sweet.

La Spinetta translates to 'top of the hill', a reference to the original vineyards purchased in the 1970s, located up the Castagnole delle Lanze hill in Piedmont. Over the years, the Rivetti family, who run this estate, have grown their plantings from that one hill to now over 165ha of vineyards in Piedmont and Tuscany. While that all sounds impressive, what sets La Spinetta on a whole different trajectory is an unrelenting focus on top-tier grapegrowing, with a strict organic focus, low yields and old vines embraced by a family who see themselves as farmers as much as winemakers. It's a classy approach, and unquestionably it shows in the beautiful range of wines here, all made from traditional indigenous varieties (except for the very interesting Chardonnay).

Pairing guide
This sweet sparkler is a dream with fruity desserts—think fresh berries and cream, lemon tart, or a classic pavlova. But don’t stop there! It also plays beautifully with salty-sweet combos like prosciutto-wrapped melon, blue cheese, or spicy Asian dishes (we see you, Thai chilli prawns). It’s also the perfect pairing for a light afternoon tea spread—macarons, sponge cake, and all. Basically, if it’s sweet, spicy, or a little salty, this Moscato is ready to bring the party.

Wine region
Piedmont, Italy
The Piedmont wine region in Italy is a magical place known for producing world-class wines. The region is bordered by the Alps to the north and the Apennine Mountains to the south, and it is characterized by rolling hills and a diverse landscape. The climate in Piedmont is generally cool and wet, with warm, dry summers and cold, snowy winters. This climate is well-suited to grape growing offering slow and steady ripening conditions which lead to high-quality and expressive wines. Piedmont is most praised for its red wines, particularly Barolo and Barbaresco, which are made from the Nebbiolo grape. Barbera and Dolcetto are other celebrated reds of the region, and as for its white wines, Arneis, Moscato d'Asti and the rare Nascetta. Piedmont is also famous for its flavorful truffles, often used in local dishes, and pair beautiful with its regional wines.
