Details
Pigface is a lovely pink flowering succulent that you might see growing near Mornington Peninsula beaches, and it's a pretty name for this rather richly textured Chardonnay. Made from an organically farmed plot at Balnarring, on the lower side of the Peninsula, this is a medium- to full-bodied white with mealy, nutty fullness balanced out by a zesty finish, with the flavours stepped up thanks to the warm 2025 vintage.

Named after a slightly notorious surf break on the southern edge of the Mornington Peninsula, Kerri Greens is the work of Lucas Blanck and his wife, Alyce, alongside assistant winemaker (and resident Instagram star) Linda Stanzel. The Peninsula is an awful long way from home for Lucas, though, as his family run the Paul Blanck et Fils winery in Alsace, and he did his winemaking apprenticeship at the famed French wineries Domaine Zind-Humbrecht and Trimbach. Interestingly, Lucas's wines fit into a bit of the French and Aussie modes too - he makes Riesling (which is a grape you don't find much of around Mornington Peninsula) in multiple different styles, plus a pretty serious rosé, as well as rather classic Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Named among the 2026 Young Guns of Wine, it's not hard to see why there is lots of noise about Lucas and his brilliant wines already.

Pairing guide
If there is one thing that this Chardonnay doesn't lack, it's flavour. Loaded with rich, nutty, richly textured layers, it's a winemaker's wine with lots of complexity but also a rather sprightly, fresh finish. We think this works best with dishes that dial in the buttery mouthfeel but also with some vitality - like fish, prawns or scallops with a buttery sauce, or chicken with garlic, lemon and herbs. Corn and sweet potato are your friends here too.

Mornington Peninsula, Australia
Just an hour's drive south of Melbourne is the Pinot Paradise, also known as Mornington Peninsula. The signature variety of the region is, without a doubt, Pinot Noir, accounting for over half of the region’s vines, followed by Chardonnay at 25% and Pinot Gris at 20%. Pinot Noir from this region is typically characterised by its refreshing acidity and purity. The deep colour may lead you to think these wines are potent, but in reality, the wines are elegant, pretty and medium-bodied at best. Surrounded by Bass Strait, Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay in Victoria, Mornington Peninsula’s climate is uniquely maritime cool and breezy. In fact, no vineyard is further than 7km from the ocean! Some of the most notable producers in the Mornington Peninsula include Kooyong, Ten Minutes by Tractor, Stonier Wines and boutique wineries such as Montalto, Ocean Eight, and Quealy Wines.
