Details
Graacher Himmelreich is one of the celebrated vineyards of the 'Middle Mosel' - a section of Mosel hillside vineyards where steep slopes and slatey soils deliver phenomenally minerally and ultra fine Riesling revered all over the world. This seriously juicy, off-dry Auslese expression from the steep Graacher hills is a beautiful wine too, with a slatey, floral nose, a sweet and luscious palate that teases you with its quince and ripe mandarin fruit, and a bejewelled, perfectly fresh finish.

Joh Jos (JJ) Prüm is unquestionably one of the leading lights of German Riesling, with the iconic labels of this venerated producer among the very best in the Mosel. Undoubtedly, one of the drivers of this reputation is what is an almost unbroken history (save for a few world wars) of quality Riesling spanning from crisp and moreish fresh Trocken dry styles right through to some of the most exotic sweet Riesling wines on the planet. More than just a wine back story, the Prüm family have been farming in the Mosel since the 1100s, although it was Johann Josef Prüm (there's the JJ part) who founded the estate in 1911. Since then, just 3 Prüm family members have taken the helm here, with Katharina Prüm now driving these phenomenal wines to ever greater heights with a focus ever tightening precision to continue delivering some of the best Riesling on the planet.

Pairing guide
Interestingly, although you'd definitely call this Joh Jos Prüm Riesling a sweet style of wine, the superstar freshness and high acidity underneath means that this beautiful, juicy wine will match with more than just cake. Indeed, we absolutely adore this with spicy curry, hot noodles and anything with plenty of heat. We also love it with ginger dishes and anything with big salty flavours. Of course, it will also be a wonderful pair with any dessert that relies on fruit rather than cream or chocolate, with pastries in particular a huge hit.

Wine region
Mosel, Germany
Mosel is arguably Germany's most famous wine region and is home to some of the best white wines on the talent made from the mighty Riesling grape variety. Here you will find some of the steepest vineyards in the world planted on the banks of the Mosel River, which plays a crucial role in ripening the grapes, acting as a mirror to reflect sunlight off the water back onto the steep, slate vineyards, warming up the soils and ripening the berries. Riesling is produced in a range of styles and sweetnesses here, from bone dry, to lusciously sweet. If you are in the market for world-class Riesling, then look no further than this stunning region.
