Details
JM Sélèque’s flagship cuvée, a favourite in grower-producer Champagne circles, is composed of predominantly Chardonnay with Pinot Meunier and a small amount of Pinot Noir. Complexity abounds with apple, pear and floral tones, with brioche, chalky minerality and finishing with a gently smoky top note. It’s crisp but rich and full-bodied, with a long and youthful finish. Joyful artisanal Champagne!

New to the fabulous world of Grower Champagne? Simply put, it is a style of Champagne that the grape grower and their families produce – these are confident, unique wines that are far more expressive of regionality than the famous brand names. Now that we have your attention and before you spend your life’s savings on it; consider the work of JM Sélèque. Now three generations track record of grower Champagne, some would say the Sélèque family were doing it before it became cool. The NV offering comes from carefully selected parcels in Champagne’s most sought sub-regions. These wines are a masterful balancing act of energetic fruit, fresh acidity, and creamy lees complexity – the cloudy stuff that lingers after fermentation! Top value producer for those getting into Grower Champagne.

Pairing guide
Opening a Champagne of this level of distinction is always a cause for celebration, and this bottle deserves to be paired with dishes which put luxury back on the menu. Raw oysters topped with aromatic dressings, opulent dishes of lobster, shellfish like scallops and Moreton Bay bugs, and anything with a small mountain of caviar will all hit the high notes in style. Ceviche of white fish, citrus and chilli, homemade pates and terrines, and Italian coastal favourites like fritto misto, calamari and arancini are all top suggestions.

Wine region
Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
