Details
We really love the work of James Kalleske, and this rosé is a winner. James blends Barossa Grenache, Mourvèdre (aka Mataro), Shiraz and Viognier together to make a rosé that feels like a slice of Provence, complete with pale colours and a really pristine red apple brightness from the hand-picked Grenache fruit.

The Kalleske name is Barossa royalty and for James Kalleske he could have stayed at home and had the comfort of family meals and plenty of good times to be had at the local pub. Instead, James moved to the great West that is Western Australia to work at some of the rockstar wineries of Margaret River like Cullen, Vasse Felix and Leeuwin Estate. From here, James moved to the Perth suburb that is Bali, where he worked at Hatten Wines where he learned to appreciate the lighter styles of wine that suits the tropical climate of Bali. After working for other wineries, James decided to go out on his own and incorporate the love for his home in the Barossa as well as wine regions across Australia. Today he sources classical Barossa grapes like Grenache as well as SBS from his second home in Margaret River as well as a selection of wines that are made in cool regions like Mount Benson.

Pairing guide
Showcasing the best of Barossa Valley’s world-class output, this stylish rosé packs in flavours of summer berries with a zippy flash of citrus - perfect for pairing with some seriously tasty homemade food! We loved it with lemon chicken dishes, Moroccan salads with fresh herbs and green olives, bacon-wrapped turkey steaks and other white meats, and it’s also going to be excellent with salmon recipes and grilled pork sausages. Salads featuring raspberry vinaigrette or pomegranate molasses would work well too, and it’s also great with a tikka masala.
