Details
Really good drinking here - an exotic yet refreshing wine. There's aromas of watermelon, persimmon and orange peel, with a waft of rose petal. Really lifted and bright, with complex hints of honey and fairy floss. The palate is built around that orange peel note, and adds ginger and allspice. Fresh acidity keeps things bouncing along at a good pace.

Irvine Wines is relative newcomer on the Barossa wine scene - and yet they are over 35 years old! Established back in 1983 by a visionary team who succeeded in putting Australian Merlot at the forefront of the world’s very best, they now craft wines from a range of varieties, combining world-class Barossa winemaking and viticultural traditions with a track record of excellence in innovation. Family owned and operated by the Miles family, the generational expertise ensures the fruit grown is of the highest quality and harvested with precise timing. In 1867, the first Shiraz plantings were done by Henry Winter Miles. Now owned and worked by the fourth generation of the Miles family, their old vines shows the true commitment of the Miles family within the Barossa community. Irvine’s six vineyards span over 400 acres of the most esteemed Barossa and Eden Valley regions. These prime regions are home to some of the world’s oldest and finest Shiraz and Riesling plantations. An inherent understanding and respect for provenance together with an ongoing commitment to excellence will ensure the Irvine legacy endures for a long time to come!

Pairing guide
We love sipping this blushing wine alongside a big platter of charcuterie, bread, and olives, but it’s a stunningly versatile wine, and will match up nicely with pretty much anything. It’s especially good with sausages, tomato-based pasta dishes, light casseroles, and strong cheeses, but feel free to experiment with oily fish dishes, risottos, or any of your barbecue favourites.
