Details
This is another winner from Hither & Yon, just in time for warm weather and days by the pool. An extremely expressive nose with turkish delight, watermelon and rose petals dominating the bouquet. The wine has a nice edginess on the palate with a touch of bitterness and grip along with berry goodness.

While the family vineyards date back to 1980, Hither & Yon’s journey began in 2012 from the capable hands of the Leask brothers. Richard is the outside man, the farmer and maker; Malcolm is the inside guy, director and creator. The aim is to make better wines with a lighter footprint. To do this, Hither & Yon apply regenerative farming methods that’d make Costas of Gardening Australia proud. Practices include and are not limited to increased plant diversity between rows, the use of beneficial fungi brews, and planned cattle grazing. The result is improved soil structure for better carbon capture and water retention; all this translates to superb fruit for the wines, not to mention some very happy sheep and cattle. We could go on about Richard and Malcolm’s miracle work, but being certified sustainable and carbon neutral says it all. In their own words, ‘We make wines that are good for the environment and feel great to drink!’ Cheers to that!

Pairing guide
Ooh, this pink sparkler is something a little special for your al fresco lunches as the weather gets warmer! With its beautiful blushing colour and potent fruit flavours, this wine is going to pair gorgeously with smoked salmon, seared tuna, and pretty much anything featuring fat, juicy prawns cooked simply over a blazing heat. Cold cuts and charcuterie are always a good idea with a sparkling rosé, and richer meats like duck will also hit the spot nicely. If you fancy something sweet, this wine will also pair very well with a dessert of red berry fruits, too.
