Details
Barbera isn't known for making rosé, but who gets to make the rules anyway? This beautiful pink wine has this lovely soft pink fruit flavours contrasted with crisp and refreshing acidity, a combo that makes for some super drinkability and energy. Only light bodied, but energetically bright and juicy, this McLaren Vale rosé is such a winner.
Back in May 1988, friends Mark & Wendy Hastwell and Martin & Jill Lightfoot purchased a plot of land in the beautiful McLaren Vale region of South Australia, and began planting their first vines. From there it has expanded to over 40 acres of vineyards and 3 acres of olive groves, a cellar door and multiple wine labels that involve multiple varieties. These days, the next generation has stepped in with winemaker James Hastwell taking the reins. James strives to produce bright, fruit-forward wines with lively acidity, smooth tannins and judicious use of oak that showcase the premium McLaren Vale grapes grown on the sandy slopes of their vineyard.
