Details
Crafted from a single vineyard, this bright little Sangiovese is just overflowing with savoury berry fruits—blackberry, mulberry, all of the berries! Soft and round but with a welcome earthy hit, this is only medium-bodied, and all the better for it—ultra drinkable, juicy, and fresh, it has pizza written all over it!
It’s a beautiful thing to witness Barossa legends Jill and Simon Sorby Adams pass on the torch to their three children as they prepare for take-off. While Sorby Adams Wines remains the heart of the family business, Gudilly represents the next generation of Sorby Adams Wines, with a flair for experimentation but retaining the quality you’d expect from wines bearing the Sorby Adams name. Now masters of their own ‘vinous’ destiny, the Adams siblings source fruit from around the SA region to produce quality single-vineyard wines designed to be enjoyed young and fresh. One of the most impressive vineyards happens to be from the same source as Yalumba’s Signature range, and the quality is staggering.

Pairing guide
Sangiovese has to be one of the most food-friendly varieties when done well, with the great combo of fruit and structure to have your mouthwatering. This more light and fruity style from the Gudilly label would work wonderfully well with a pizza, especially with red sauce, sausage, ham, or salami. Roasted capsicum or roasted chilli pizza would be a great vegetarian option as well, as would any tomato-based pasta for something beyond pizza. The easy drinking style here will even work with a slight chill for drinking on a warm afternoon as well.

Wine region

Adelaide, Australia
In one breath – Adelaide Hills, Adelaide Plains, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Currency Creek, Eden Valley, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale, Mount Benson, Mount Gambier, Padthaway, Riverland, Robe, Southern Fleurieu, Southern Flinders Ranges, and Wrattonbully. Did we miss any?
The Adelaide wine region is wide and varied when it comes to terroir. From the coastal regions of Limestone Coast and McLaren Vale, to the warmer inland valleys of Barossa and Eden, to the flats of Langhorne Creek. The region is probably best known for Shiraz, Grenache and Cab Sav in reds, and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in white. As a result, wines labelled with only Adelaide will have a myriad of flavours, but you can count on it being delicious!
