Details
The Six Grapes Port from Graham’s is made from, not so surprisingly, 6 grapes, including the standard Touriga combination of Nacional and Franca. The resulting wine is a deep coloured, seductive fortified wine with ripe plums with cherries on top. The wine requires many sips before you start to understand it, yet the good thing is that it is so delicious, it’s easy to delve into.
W. & J. Graham's, or simply Graham's, is one of the most important producers of Port. Founded in 1820 when the Graham family firm received 27 barrels of Portuguese wine as payment for a debt, the Graham's port business continues to operate today under the ownership of the Symington Family Estates, who purchased the brand in 1970. As well as vintage and tawny port, Graham's produces various single harvest ports, including the 1882 Ne Oublie Tawny, named after the Graham family motto and at the time one of the most expensive wines for sale. The company received a Royal Warrant in 2015. Graham’s Ports, from the entry level ‘Fine Tawny’ upwards, are utterly authentic and always exceed the legal minimum standards for their ages. These are a revelation and classics of both tawny and vintage have a high proportion of the Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca varieties, considered by Prats & Symington to be the varieties best suited to making outstanding Douro DOC wines.

Pairing guide
Graham’s is arguably the world’s most recognised and beloved producer of fortified wines, and this gorgeous bottle is sure to be treasured by those who can’t get enough of this unique style and flavour profile. As for food pairing, it’s tempting to just serve this beautiful release with your full cheese collection - maybe with some candied nuts and fruit on the side, if you fancy. It’s also going to be great with fig salad, charcuterie, stuffed dates and intense chocolate desserts, as well as anything combining honey, nuts and aromatic ingredients like rosemary.
