Details
A cloudy, dusty romantic pink in the glass, this Pét-Nat rosé made from Sangiovese grapes sparkles with vibrant juiciness and has buckets of oomph! Watermelon and pear aromas abound, it’s fruit-driven but dry, with a chalky texture, and has a few tiny unfiltered wine diamonds (AKA crystal tartrates) that twinkle on your tongue like vinous popping candy. Refreshing and delicious!
Gilbert Family Wines was established in 2004 by fifth-generation winemaker Simon Gilbert. Now, Simon and his son Will hand-craft honest wines which are reflective of their growing seasons, are true-to-type, and that highlight a sense of place and style, whilst paying tribute to their heritage. They draw on extensive old and new world winemaking experience to push boundaries, with different techniques and ideas, to make Gilbert Family Wines from Orange, Mudgee and the wider Central Ranges region. Will learnt the ropes at a young age, helping in the cellar from the age of 10, instilling in him very early on a love of the machinations of winemaking. He later studied oenology (the science of wine), then spent a few years working vintages between Australia and Niagara and Okanagan in Canada. Will is one of the most exciting winemaking talents in NSW, and was named the GT WINE Young Winemaker of the Year in 2021. His wines are fun, and dynamic, and always push the envelope of deliciousness.

Pairing guide
A Pét-Nat rosé by Gilbert is never going to be less than fantastic, and we’ve got to admit, this bottle exceeded all of our expectations! As you might expect, it’s incredibly food-friendly, and will pair very happily with all kinds of fried and breaded chicken, pork, fish and veal dishes, as well as with slow-cooked pork belly, smoked salmon, fried Indian snacks and starters, and all kinds of seafood and shellfish. Delicious!

Wine region

Mudgee, Australia
Hey there, fellow wine enthusiasts! Have you heard of the Mudgee wine region in New South Wales, Australia? If not, you're missing out on some seriously delicious drops! Picture this: vineyards perched high up at 450 meters, soaking up the Aussie sunshine and enjoying cooler temperatures. That means the grapes get a little extra time to ripen and develop flavors that'll knock your socks off. And boy, do they ever!
Mudgee is famous for its full-bodied red wines, like Shiraz, Cab Sav, and Merlot, which pack a punch and leave you wanting more. But don't overlook their refreshing whites, like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, which are perfect for sipping on a sunny day.
