Details
A wonderful wine this - a pale rosé crafted from the rare Spanish variety Graciano. Typically used to make medium-bodied, spicy reds, it turns out that it makes pretty damn good rosé as well! Pungent aromas of rose petals, squished red berries and musk fill the glass. The refreshing palate follows with flavours of mulberry, watermelon, and zesty acidity. Wonderful stuff.
Gibson Wines goes back twenty-plus years in production history in South Australia and crafts wines ranging from bright, energetic Rieslings to the dark, powerful examples of Shiraz the region is famous for. Rob Gibson is the patriarch of the family and enterprise. An early entree into wine at Penfolds in the mid-seventies planted the foundations of a career that would last for just over twenty years with the producer. Gibson Wines started out in 1996 as a small endeavour with a wine named after his mother Isabelle; so you know he is a good guy. From this early beginning, the styles have increased and now offer a range of wines that have been rated by the Wine Companion as a five-star winery in Australia. With time he and his son have brought in grapes such as Fiano and Primitivo which are more often seen in the Mediterranean climates of Europe. These wines are created to offer wine lovers a new taste of the producer, and the region, to be enjoyed with or without food.

Pairing guide
With flashes of stone fruits and citrus notes, this beautiful rosé wine from Gibson packs in mountains of flavour and character, and offers loads of food pairing possibilities. We especially liked it with salty fish dishes - everything from an anchovy salad to poached salmon will work beautifully - and it’s also going to be fabulous with delicate rack of lamb, juicy duck breast, and dishes that make a star ingredient of the humble tomato. Spicy pasta classics will work well, as will chicken and lemon tagines and other zesty Middle Eastern treats.
