Details
What a vivacious Chardonnay this is. It's so effortless and so opposite to the heavy styles of old-school Chardonnay! It's only just medium-bodied and so fine-boned, with a nose of fresh cream, a little funk and then driving citrus and creamed apples. You think it's going to be light and lean, but there is this magical lemony fruit intensity that just highlights how bloody amazing the grapes are that the Gant's have to work with. A creamy yet racy Chardonnay of real delight!

In 1998, Graham Lloyd established a vineyard at Karridale, in the windy, chilly southern end of Margaret River, working alongside his daughter Claudia. Claudia went off to make wine all over the planet, but Margaret River was always in her heart, and it wasn't long before she returned to the vineyard with wine husband Matt Gant (founder of First Drop Wines in the Barossa) in tow. Sadly, Graham Lloyd passed away in 2016. Claudia and Matt took over the vineyard and established Gant & Co. to 'not only showcase the fruit from this amazing site but also champion the cool climate sub-region of Karridale'. Since then, this stunning plot has gone on to be named as a finalist in Young Gun of Wine’s ‘Vineyard of the Year’ awards, and the beautifully refined, thoughtfully made Gant & Co. wines just continue to impress with their fine-boned expression of Margaret River wine.

Pairing guide
Who doesn’t love a great bottle of Chardonnay, bursting with character and all the richness and brightness we love so much about this wine style? This release from Gant & Co is a stunning example of a contemporary Chardo, and it’s brilliant with some of our absolute favourite dishes, too. Clam linguine, buttered lobster, homemade crab cakes, Singapore noodles and chicken korma top our list of recommended pairings, but they don’t stop there. It’s just as good with roast turkey dinners, creamy chicken, fish or vegetable risotto, cacio e pepe and carbonara, and avocado poke bowls. Divine!
