Details
This is such a fun wine. Fun wine, made sustainably from organic grapes, and flavour plus. Waves of plum, mulberry and fruitcake wash over you, with silky tannins and a little bit of earth in the background. Soft violets and a pillowy texture complete the picture, and whilst it's fairly gentle and easy-drinking, it still delivers flavour in all the right places. It's wine to drink in fancy glasses or chilled out of a tumbler. Shine on, Star Child.
Have you ever had those moments at work where you go full Ben Stiller in Secret Life of Walter Mitty, where you stop thinking about the spreadsheet you are supposed to be working on and start dreaming about jumping in a taxi and seeing how far the “savings” in your bank account can get you? This is what we call a fulltime fantasy and good thing we have the perfect cure for you. Enter Jason and Matt, who have created a bunch of wines that go perfectly for those who are known to drift off mid-conversation. They have engaged the services of one of our favourite winemakers, Sam Watkins of Watkins Wine fame, who has curated a couple of wines that will be sure to delight. They have also sourced fruit from Langhorne Creek, a region with plenty of history and always underrated for the quality of fruit it produces. Now that this part is done, do you have enough money to get to Tibet?

Pairing guide
Fun red wines are often overlooked drinks, and this organic Shiraz is such an easy wine to like. That juicy red berry fruit and gentle fruity sweetness is a wine that will match with plenty of dishes that more full-bodied and heavy wines might not. We especially love it with a classic Cuban and the whole cured meat/pickled veg sandwich plate. Indeed, this is a perfect picnic wine, especially when served out of a GPD tumbler! Olives, dips, the whole arvo snack shebang is a winner here too, and it will even stand up nicely to a bit of chilli and spice.

Wine region

Langhorne Creek, Australia
The Langhorne Creek is a wine region in South Australia that is best known for its rich, full-bodied red wines such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The region has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters, and a cooling influence from nearby Lake Alexandrina which helps moderate the temperature. All of which makes this region ideal for producing high-quality and age-worthy red wines. In fact, the region is responsible for a large portion of the red grapes used in wines all over the state! The region also produces some white wines, particularly Chardonnay, but it's the red that makes up the lion's share of plantings. The region is surrounded by picturesque countryside and has a long history of grape growing and winemaking dating back to the 1850s.
