Details
A fresh and supple wine that shows off the texture that Fiano is capable of. There'slayers of sweet pear fruit, mixed with candied lemon and honey notes, backed up by a hint of almond. The acid is zesty and zingy and keeps things moving, but overall it's a medium-bodied wine that hits all the right notes - a perfect Sunday afternoon drop.

Origin: Campania in southern Italy. Mainly Grown In: Italy, Slovenia and then some in the USA and Australia. Key Facts: Fiano is an ancient variety from Campania in southern Italy that was prevalent over 800 years ago, but was really only brought back into prominence in the 1970s by producer Mastroberadino. Now it appears to be flourishing, and in the past decade has been taken up with glee by Australian growers looking for a new white variety that has heat tolerance and plenty of acid and flavour. The wines are powerful and yet refreshing, with a juicy lemon character plus complex honey and almond and grassy notes. Really characterful, Fiano is a unique variety that is enjoying its time in the Australian sun. Fun Fact: Due to its roots (literally) in ancient Rome - Fiano (or Apianum as it was called back then) is a classical vine - so drink this and put on your best fancy clothes.

Pairing guide
Fiano is right up there with our favourite white wine styles, and not least because it pairs so effectively with some of our favourite light dishes and tasty snacks. It’s a natural pairing for chicken and leek combos, soft and creamy cheeses and pasta classics like carbonara, and will also work well with prawn risotto or other seafood rice dishes, too. Bruschetta, white pizza, chowder, smoked fish and chicken breast with garlic and herbs will also tick all the right boxes at the dining table. Delicious!

South Australia, Australia
South Australia is a wide and varied state when it comes to wine production. From the coastal regions of Limestone Coast and McLaren Vale, to the warmer inland valleys of Barossa and Eden, to the flats of Langhorne Creek, there's a range of terroirs and temperatures across this wide brown land. As a result, wines labelled with only South Australia can display a range of flavours! The state is probably best known for Shiraz, Grenache and Cab Sav in reds, and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in white. Whatever your flavour, there's plenty to explore!
