Details
A NZ classic Pinot - warm red fruits, silky tannins and real Pinot character. Light in the glass but really delivers. Loads of red raspberry, ripe plum, jammy berries and a hint of warmth, all wrapped up by some comforting brown spices. Serve slightly chilled for maximum enjoyment!
Flight PN115 is now boarding. You’ve heard of doctors without borders, but can winemakers do it too? Well, Eddie McDougall seems to think so. Eddie has racked up a wine career that can only be described as ‘legendary’ with vintages at Vietti, Italy, Mas de Daumas Gassac, Southern France, and close to home at Giant Steps in Victoria. Eddie now captains the Flying Winemaker initiative slash wine label, which allows exceptional winemakers to experiment with varieties, blends and regions outside of their own. The Flying Winemaker initiative breaks down borders offering accessibly priced wines with the quality you expect from a select crew of highly-skilled winemakers and experts. Sounds a bit like a Liam Neeson film, but more palatable? Shots fired! As a side, do yourself a favour and watch the ‘Flying Winemaker’ TV series. Think Anthony Bourdain’s ‘Parts Unknown’ but delivered with a bouncy Aussie accent by none other than Eddie McDougall himself.

Pairing guide
This elegant and deliciously gluggable Pinot Noir is a real champion of a food-pairing wine, offering amazing versatility alongside its delicious array of fruit flavours. We especially enjoyed it with a classic boeuf bourguignon, but it would work brilliantly with all kinds of meaty stews and casseroles of pork, beef, lamb, chicken or game. Roasted root vegetables, brown rice recipes, rich tomato ragu sauces, lentil curries and roast poultry will also hit the spot.
