Details
What a beautiful Sicilian rosé! Sorry, we're in Italy, so this is a rosato, and what deliciousness we have as well. Made from the Sicilian hero grape Nero d'Avola, this has all the red raspberry and red cordial fruity joy, but it's still a dry, crisp and savoury wine. Every sip of this pink pleasure machine takes you to an empty Mediterranean beach!

The island of Sicily is a viticultural wonderland, home to many native varieties and an active volcano! Whilst Feudo Arancio are not in the same section of the island as the famous Mt Etna (they sit about 2 hours drive to the south, in the province of Ragusa), it's hard to mention Sicily and not discuss the influence of the famous volcano! The climate is warm but tempered by the sea breezes, and the growing and making of wine hasn't changed much over the centuries - the aim is to let the grapes speak and make wines that couldn't come from anywhere else! Feudo Arancio focuses on native varieties, but that's not to say it ignores the more famous international varieties! This mix of tradition and modernity really encapsulates what the winery is all about—showcasing the best of the island with one eye on the future—and the other eye on the volcano!

Pairing guide
Sicily’s incredible wine scene continues to make waves across the globe, and with characterful and beautifully refreshing bottles like this rosato (made of course from Sicily’s barnstorming Nero d’Avola grapes), it’s not hard to see why. You’ll want to match this bottle with seafood and chicken pasta dishes, rice with olives, prawns, pork belly and other unctuous additions, and especially with antipasti favourites like arancini balls and tomato bruschetta. Sardines and other oily fish will work well, and it’s also great with pork chops with eggplant, Asian beef salads, and Italian classics like puttanesca. Delicious!

Wine region
Sicily, Italy
Sicily is a productive island located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the southern coast of Italy. The island has a varied landscape, with low coastal plains to hills and even active volcanic mountains. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Disease pressure is low thanks to drying coastal breezes making the region ideal for organic farming practices. The soils are volcanic, sandy, and clay. Sicily can be divided into three wine regions, including the volcanic Etna DOC on the eastern side of the island, known for its red wines made from the Nerello Mascalese grape. The Marsala DOC on the island's western side is known for its fortified wines. The remaining Southeast of the Island produces a range of wines, notably Frappato and Nero d’Avola.
