Details
A vibrant, classic Clare Valley Riesling, filled with aromas of lime, grapefruit and talc. It's chalky and fresh certainly, but the full-on acidity is buffered by a suggestion of sweetness that makes the wine wonderfully balanced and moreish. Pear, peach and more lime on the finish - delicious.

Steve Wiblin is the brains, and the brawn, behind Clare Valley label Erin Eyes. Despite a career in beer and beer marketing, Steve developed a passion for wine through sheer osmosis - he was surrounded by wineries and eventually was consumed by it! What followed was a cross-continental career, learning the ropes and then more of the complex business of starting a winery and growing the brand, all for a large corporate winery. After two decades of this, he started his own label and hasn't looked back! Erin Eyes is focused on varieties that have traditionally succeeded in the Clare Valley - Riesling, Shiraz, Malbec and Cabernet. The Clare's wonderful warm dry summers with low humidity and cool nights make it as disease free as vineyards can be. Those cool nights keep average ripening temperature down and leads to powerful wines filled with fruit and complex flavours. The Rieslings in particular are quite special - textural, floral and nuanced, with plenty of drive and freshness.

Pairing guide
We can’t get enough of this gorgeously refreshing and beautifully balanced Riesling from Erin Eyes. All that brightness calls for some seriously spicy flavours to pair with, and this white wonder is going to be fantastic with fiery Thai curries, Malaysian satay dishes, and with the punch and heat of Sichuan peppercorns. It’s a versatile number, though, and will also pair very well with chicken in creamy sauces, breaded pork escalopes, and anything with veal, mashed potato, or white asparagus. Yum!
