Details
This is a full throttle Shiraz that shows off both rich fruit and spicy oak. Look out for lifted aromas of charred spice, dark cherry and plum, combined with a rich, full-flavoured palate accentuated by vanilla. Soft, long and powerful, this is a cool weather treat.

Drop Zone is a relatively new wine label that focusses on a handful of premium wine regions across South Australia and selects the best varieties for each region, to produce a range of dynamic yet archetypal wines that showcase the very best of the state. From the Barossa Valley to McLaren Vale and on to Langhorne Creek, this is a collection of wines that showcase power and poise, richness as well as freshness. Modern South Australian wine for everyone. The wines are made by the same team that produce the great value Step by Step range, and they show a similar mixture of fruit richness and clean freshness. There is a good deal of oak used in the reds, but it is well balanced by the inherent fruit richness. In this way the wines are quite traditional, but there's always a line of acidity running through them to balance things out. As the name suggests, these wines are very much in the zone! From three separate vineyards across Langhorne Creek, this is a full throttle Shiraz that shows off both rich fruit and spicy oak. Look out for lifted aromas of charred spice, dark cherry and plum, combined with a rich, full-flavoured palate accentuated by vanilla. Soft, long and powerful, this is a cool weather treat.

Pairing guide
Bold, beautifully flavoured, and brilliantly food friendly - this gorgeous Shiraz really does have it all! Like most wines of this style, it’s a fantastic choice for all of your barbecue needs; it’s going to go wonderfully with deeply punchy and smoky dark meats, lamb chops, beef steaks, and homemade burgers alike. It loves smoky eggplant and grilled capsicums, and will also hit the high notes when paired with meaty stews and braises, lentil and bean dishes, and anything packing a hit of smoked paprika and green or pink peppercorns.

Wine region
South Australia, Australia
South Australia is a wide and varied state when it comes to wine production. From the coastal regions of Limestone Coast and McLaren Vale, to the warmer inland valleys of Barossa and Eden, to the flats of Langhorne Creek, there's a range of terroirs and temperatures across this wide brown land. As a result, wines labelled with only South Australia can display a range of flavours! The state is probably best known for Shiraz, Grenache and Cab Sav in reds, and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in white. Whatever your flavour, there's plenty to explore!
