Details
This Malbec is a standout from Domaine Canet, with a bright purple colour that is overtaken by a meaty, chocolatey nose brimming with personality. The wine is bursting with blackberries, mocha and some defined chewy tannins.

Château Canet is a modern winery located in the heart of the Languedoc, in the renowned region of Minervois. Floris and Victoria have owned the estate and winery since 2007 after spending time in Burgundy. The estate, and name of the winery dates back to 1126 and today is used as a site for quintessential French winery weddings. Floris likes to keep a modern edge to the winery, focusing on bright styles of wines that mix in seamlessly with the traditional Minervois classics. The Domaine Canet range drew the eye of our wine buying team when tasting these delights in France. They are a range of single variety wines from the family estate that are smartly packaged and show clean and modern winemaking. Too often, you have regions that only focus on traditional styles however these wines buck that trend, with some Malbec, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also making up the mix aside from classic Syrah and Cabernet Merlot. We hope you enjoy the first look at these wines on Aussie shores.

Pairing guide
We can’t get enough of this bold and fully-flavoured Malbec from Domaine Canet, which perfectly encapsulates everything we love about southern French red wines. All that heft and depth makes it a wonderful match for hearty red meat dishes - lamb steaks with mint or rosemary, sirloin or T-bone steak with chips and wild mushroom sauce, duck in a red wine reduction… The list goes on and on. It’s well-suited to Mexican, Tex-Mex and Cajun cuisine, as well as anything with beans, lentils and vegetables like eggplant and red capsicum, especially when cooked with warming spices like cumin, cinnamon and paprika.
