Details
The Domaine Canet Chardonnay has a slightly flinty start with apple and nectarine as well as a touch of lemon and saline. The palate is broad and expansive with fleshy stone fruit and a lovely finish.
Château Canet is a modern winery located in the heart of the Languedoc, in the renowned region of Minervois. Floris and Victoria have owned the estate and winery since 2007 after spending time in Burgundy. The estate, and name of the winery dates back to 1126 and today is used as a site for quintessential French winery weddings. Floris likes to keep a modern edge to the winery, focusing on bright styles of wines that mix in seamlessly with the traditional Minervois classics. The Domaine Canet range drew the eye of our wine buying team when tasting these delights in France. They are a range of single variety wines from the family estate that are smartly packaged and show clean and modern winemaking. Too often, you have regions that only focus on traditional styles however these wines buck that trend, with some Malbec, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also making up the mix aside from classic Syrah and Cabernet Merlot. We hope you enjoy the first look at these wines on Aussie shores.

Pairing guide
This Chardonnay brings a lovely balance of richness and restraint — think orchard fruit, a hint of creaminess, and just enough oak to keep things interesting. Perfect with a buttery roast chicken, grilled corn with herb butter, or a creamy mushroom risotto. It’s also right at home with a nutty Comté or a wedge of Brie, especially with a few salty almonds on the side. Whether you’re going full comfort food or keeping it French and fancy, this Chardy’s got you.

Languedoc, France
The Languedoc wine region is located in the south of France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It is the largest wine-producing region in France and is known for its wide variety of wine styles, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling. As a younger region, Languedoc has less restrictive wine growing laws making it a virtual oasis for progressive winemakers. As a result, you may find many innovative, even atypical blends in this region, that represent excellent value. Of the numerous varieties available in Languedoc Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Viognier are the stand outs. Top producers are known showcasing the unique character of the Languedoc region, including Mas de Daumas Gassac, Château de Saint-Martin, Mas Jullien, and Château d'Angles.
