Details
This is where the Rhône really hits its straps, with a classic Côtes du Rhône Grenache blend. Cloves and pepper are dominating the first smell and then as you give the wine a swirl and let it open up, you’ll start to coax out some raspberry and plum notes which add nice weight to the palate.
The Rhône Valley has a steep history in producing wine, which dates back to the days of the Roman Empire. The wines today may be quite different from what they drank back then, but then again, a lot of things have changed over two thousand years. They may have a strong reputation for their red blends with a focus on Grenache, however there are also some amazing white wines lurking in the corners, for those that are brave enough to seek them out. Good Pair Days have had a long relationship with Boutinot, a supplier of wines from across the world, and for this project, we tasked them with producing a two ranges of wines, the Olivers and the Domaine Boutinot to showcase the Rhône in all its capacity, not just red wines, with a delightful focus on rosé and very drinkable white blends. The wines are bright and modern with juicy fruit and a nice amount of French savouriness to go with any soirée.

Crafted from Grenache grapes alongside a carefully-selected range of Rhône Valley varieties, this gorgeous red blend is a joy to drink from the very first sip to the last. Like most Grenache blends, it’s also a joy to pair with a wide array of dishes and ingredients - you’ll find it matches beautifully with steak recipes, rich and wholesome stews, roast poultry, game meats, sausages and rustic favourites like ratatouille and goulash, too. Roast root vegetables, grilled eggplant and capsicums, bean casseroles, ragu sauces… the list just goes on and on!

Wine region

Southern Rhône, France
Picture a land of sunny skies and warm, gentle breezes, where the grapes ripen to perfection and the wine flows like water. This is the southern Rhône, a magical place where the wines are rich, spicy, and oh-so-delicious. From bold, full-bodied reds to crisp, white wine made in a range of styles, there's a wine for every palate in the southern Rhône. This is a warm region in southeastern France with a Mediterranean climate, most famous for its red wines, made from grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre from world-famous appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Vacqueyras. And with so many charming wineries to visit and delicious wines to taste, it's no wonder that people flock to this corner of France year after year. So why not join them, and let the southern Rhône cast its spell on you too?
