Details
Pale yellow in colour, this white is made from the relatively rare grape Grenache Blanc. Quite grapey (surprise surprise), it also shows off plenty of stone fruit and yellow florals. Quiet complex for such an easygoing wine, it is fruity and soft, with a touch of nuttiness.

Origin: Across southern Spain, from where it spread to France. Mainly Grown In: Spain, France and then small amounts elsewhere. Key Facts: Grenache Blanc is the rare white mutation of Grenache, most commonly found in the southern Rhone Valley in France. Here it is commonly blended with other grapes like Roussanne and Clairette to bring some freshness to it's power. It is dense and rich, with flavours of green plum, honey and hay. It is warm and relatively low in acidity, thus the preference in France for blending. It is also used commonly for the production of fortified wines from Roussillon and southern France, again bringing weight and flavour to the wines. Fun Fact: The famous region Chateauneuf du Pape allows 13 grapes to be used in its blends - 7 red and 6 white. Grenache Blanc is one of the better known white ones.

Pairing guide
This beautiful Grenache Blanc from Dignitat showcases a lesser-seen varietal with acres of character in every sip. Those subtle spicy flourishes call for some interesting pairings; we love this wine alongside dishes featuring the umami hit of miso, punchy fish dishes of mackerel and sardines, and spicy peanut satay. It’s great with Asian salads, and works beautifully with ramen and pho, too.
