Origin: Campania in southern Italy. Mainly Grown In: Italy, Slovenia and then some in the USA and Australia. Key Facts: Fiano is an ancient variety from Campania in southern Italy that was prevalent over 800 years ago, but was really only brought back into prominence in the 1970s by producer Mastroberadino. Now it appears to be flourishing, and in the past decade has been taken up with glee by Australian growers looking for a new white variety that has heat tolerance and plenty of acid and flavour. The wines are powerful and yet refreshing, with a juicy lemon character plus complex honey and almond and grassy notes. Really characterful, Fiano is a unique variety that is enjoying its time in the Australian sun. Fun Fact: Fiano's grape name was taken from the bees that, still to this day in Campania, seek out and love to eat the delicious grape!

Pairing guide
We’ve long been preaching from the gospel of Fiano - there’s something about this timeless white wine style that really ticks all the right boxes as far as we’re concerned! This release from our beloved Daisy winery is an absolute beauty, and will pair magnificently with richer chicken and pork dishes - especially those featuring a hit of zesty lemon and salty olives - as well as with creamy pasta creations, salmon recipes and green vegetable risotto. Salads with caesar-style dressing, white lasagna and pumpkin ravioli will also be excellent here.
