Details
The K1 vineyard is located in the southern, warmer part of the Adelaide Hills in Kuitpo (KY-poh) where CRFT have been sourcing fruit for a few years now. This is Aussie Grüner with a waft of white peach and underlying lemon notes that merges into fleshy peaches on the palate with a lingering acidity that shows the typical backbone of this gorgeous variety.
CRFT is the story of two winemakers, Candice and Frew, who share the same goals of producing focused single vineyard wines from across the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. The couple met in 2005 and both had extensive experience working for various wineries before launching their own label in 2012. CRFT started off the back of a trip in 2009 where they travelled through wine regions across Europe and the Americas and led to their love of Grüner Veltliner after passing through Austria. Today the winery has a signature range of four single vineyard Pinot Noirs and four single vineyard Grüner Veltliners on top of a growing range of other wines all with the same single vineyard focus. In 2016 they took the plunge by buying their own vineyard, the Arranmore vineyard, which has been certified organic since 2019 and is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Grüner Veltliner. All the wines under their label share a beautiful approach to winemaking and to the land.

Pairing guide
This is the ultimate flexible white wine, and modern dry, light styles like this one from CRFT are a foodie’s dream when served with all kinds of dishes. This particular bottle would pair magnificently with Asian cuisine featuring all kinds of lovely, spicy aromatics - think fresh, zesty Thai or Vietnamese food, and you’re probably onto a winner. However, it would go just as well with crab (an amazing pairing!), mussels, squid, or tuna, and we reckon it would be delicious with pork dishes and roasted birds

Wine region

Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges
of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
