Details
Reminiscent of Cherry Ripe this - chocolate, coconut and red fruits galore. A rich, smooth Tempranillo from the winemaking team at Colab and Bloom - plenty of upfront grunt, backed up by some vanilla and dusty earth.
There's a clue in the name - this is a collaboration between a few good mates, based in the McLaren Vale and with vineyards across South Australia. Grown from humble roots, but with a clear mission; to create expressive and drinkable wines. Long term friends and colleagues, Norm Doole, Mike Farmilo and Nick Whiteway had always dreamed of making wine together. Norm has been growing grapes and making wine in McLaren Vale and at his home vineyard in the Adelaide Hills for over 30 years. Mike Farmilo is one of Australia’s most highly awarded winemakers; having made wines that have won the Jimmy Watson Award for Best Red Wine in Australia, twice! Nick has over 20 years experience in the industry; including vintages in the Napa Valley, USA and the Douro in Portugal. This melting pot of knowledge and cumulative experience are at the heart of the business. Their wines are constantly evolving, yet always remaining true to their purpose - that is, to be enjoyed and boast the unique qualities of their region, vineyard and variety. Great stuff.

Pairing guide
Tempranillo is one of those classic grape varietals that always seems to produce red wines perfect for hearty, rustic, and thoroughly enjoyable dinners. All those deep flavours and beautiful tannins make it ideal for pairing with intensely tasty stews, braises, and hotpots, and it loves being paired with minced beef, paprika-tossed pork, and lamb cooked low and slow with delicious spices. We love it with classic Spanish family dishes (including a rabbit paella - yum!), and it’s great with Mexican and Tex Mex favourites like chili con carne and burritos. Basically, if it involves meat, tomatoes, chilli, corn, beans, and cheese… this wine is going to tick all the right boxes!

Wine region

Fleurieu Peninsula, Australia
The Fleurieu Peninsula wine region is located in South Australia. The region is known for its relatively cool climate wines (compared to other parts of South Australia), Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay do particularly well in these parts. The area has a long history of winemaking, with the first vines being planted in the 1850s. Today, the region is home to a number of small, family-owned wineries that produce high-quality wines using traditional winemaking techniques. The cool climate and mineral-rich soils of the region give the wines their distinctive character and flavour. Perhaps the most famous of all of the Fleurieu Peninsula's sub-regions is McLaren Vale in the northwest, home to some of the finest red wines in Australia.
