Details
Crafted from the vineyards surrounding the winery in Orange this genteel, subtly powerful red is a blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, Cinsault and Counoise. What sets it apart is that refinement - there's this silken flow of purple fruit, spice and cured meats that feels like a marriage between Burgundian effortlessness and Rhone Valley heart.
Rotem and Mounir Saouma are probably better known for their Lucien Le Moine business in Burgundy. But the couple have a love for the wines of the Rhone too, and when the chance came up to buy a plot in Chateauneuf du Pape they jumped. Now, with a smattering of holdings across the southern Rhone, they've crafted a selection of paradigm-shifting Rhone Valley reds that have the delicacy and vivacity of great Burgundy but with all the Grenache & Syrah deliciousness. Importantly, the Saoumas are really dedicated to white wines, too, with 30% of their production devoted to white blends. Their Inopia & Magis wines are seriously complex drinks that are probably only comparable to the grandest Burgundian blanc. Of course, it's no surprise that these wines feel effortless, with slow ferments, light touch winemaking and concrete eggs making for truly sublime drinks.

Pairing guide
The wines of Côtes du Rhône have a legendary status entirely of their own, and this beautiful Grenache and Syrah blend is the ideal introduction to anyone seeking to expand their palate to the vineyards of southeast France. We loved how well this powerful and complex red wine paired with hearty, homemade fare like roast lamb rump, steak with ratatouille, boeuf bourguignon and bistro classics like cassoulet and coq au vin. It’s also a brilliant wine to serve with a roast dinner, sausages with gravy, stuffed mushrooms and anything with roast eggplant - fantastic!
