Details
Vibrant and refreshing, this Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend jumps out of the glass, with apple and pear alongside ripe lemon flavours. There's just a little textural width here, with a nice crisp finish. Oh yeah, it's fresh!

Origin: Probably Bordeaux, in Eastern France. But now found most places. Mainly Grown In: Definitely Bordeaux, but also Margaret River and the Riverland. Key Facts: Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are like two peas in a pod... a wine pod. They're like twins who shine individually, but put 'em together and they make a pretty fine pair. They have complementary fruit characteristics, and their acid structure (pretty intense in both cases!) also seems to match up. The fruit spectrum is moderately tropical, with grassy overtones and plenty of zing. Look out for kiwi fruit, green apple and a touch of herbal flavours. In France this blend is often lightly oaked, which certainly boosts the complexity of the wine, but in the new world the 'purer' version seems to be preferred. Fun Fact: This blend is often contracted to SSB. Or SBS, but people get confused with the tv station (especially if you drink SBS while watching the Tour de France or your favourite Nordic noir) on that second one, so SSB is safer.

Pairing guide
Did we mention this Churchview white is fresh? Built snappy and lively, it's going to a winner in any circumstance when a nice lemony citrus acid punch will work. That means fresh, fried, or baked seafood, spicy chicken or pork noodles, fried or baked spicy chicken, and don't be afraid of dialling in plenty of spice and heat, this wine is up for the task.
