Details
Supple, savoury and light on its gorgeous feet, this Champagne from star grower Alex Chartogne is a real stunner. It has superb textural richness, with flavours of dried pear, chamomile, mint and white peach. Creamy yet fresh, it is wonderful drinking.

The beautiful Champagne winery of Chartogne-Taillet is one which takes its history seriously. The winery itself is built upon the site of an ancient winemaking centre, once populated by Benedictine monks in the Middle Ages, and which has a legacy of viticulture stretching back to the Roman era of France. The Taillet family themselves can trace their winemaking heritage back to the 1400s - an impressive feat even in a region where ancestral wineries are rather more standard than anywhere else on Earth! It’s not only on paper that the history and heritage of Chartogne-Taillet retains significance, however. The family team which continues to produce their remarkable sparkling wines strives to utilise historic methods of viticulture, believing that a pre-industrial approach brings them closer to their harvests and the winemaking processes, and results in a finer, more fascinating drink. As such, it’s not surprising that their nature-driven methodology results in a sustainable, expressive, and undeniably delicious bottle of timeless French bubbly.

Pairing guide
Full-flavoured, elegant, and utterly delicious, this Champagne really knows how to get the taste buds tingling. Like all Champagne, this wine is an absolute champion when it comes to food pairing. On the one hand, you can keep things classy by sticking with tradition - this Champagne is gorgeous with oysters, caviar, smoked salmon, lobster, and other fine seafood. On the other, it’s got a real affinity for fried foods that’s impossible to resist. French fries, buffalo wings, fish and chips, and battered vegetables are a genuine match made in heaven!

Wine region
Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
