Details
Made in a style that has more width and more nutty golden complexity than you'd usually find in Champagne, this super sparkling tastes of toasty bread and red apples, with this appley/yeasty style that is a real mouthful of flavour. Made with zero dosage. this Champagne has all the richness in the flavour, but finishes with extra freshness to make for one incredibly characterful fizz.
The Cotes de Bar feels like the forgotten end of Champagne. Here, far south of the famous Champagne houses, the hills are punctuated by small holdings of vines that deliver pockets of promise and the odd taste of magic. Here, Vincent Couche biodynamically farms his family's 13-hectare property and delivers nothing less than excellent Champagne. Grapes are handpicked and hand sorted in the vineyard, the cellar only uses wild yeasts and the Champagne releases are made with little or no preservatives. Yes, we're a long way from the norm here, and gee Vincent's expressive and delicious wines are worth the trip. More than just Champagne, Couche also makes a fascinating range of other drinks here too, including fortifieds and still wines that are really something else.

Pairing guide
A seriously complex and multi-layered wine, this superstar grower Champagne fizz is a truly wonderful addition to any celebration dinner. It’s going to work particularly well alongside traditional aperitif fare, but leaning towards more flavour, with smoked salmon, caviar and goat’s cheese. We also love this sparkling wine with fried chicken, pork and veal dishes, and the toasty/ctirussy contrast makes it excellent with creamy pasta and the more indulgent risotto variations.

Wine region

Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
