Details
The Blanc de Blancs ‘Latitude’ from Larmandier-Bernier is a powerful, structured wine, offering up inviting aromas of sweet orchard fruits and citrus zest with white flowers, fresh bread and pastry. It’s fleshy and enveloping, with a ripe profile and saline finish. This is an imposing, rich 'Grower' Champagne that needs air, so pour it into your best wine glasses and leave the narrow flutes for another time!
For the past decade, ‘Grower Champagne’ has led a quiet revolution on our top wine lists. Leading this change is Larmandier-Bernier. But what is grower Champagne? Simply put, it is Champagne produced from only the grape growers own vineyards – these are confident, singular wines that are more expressive of regionality than famous brand names. Pierre Larmandier’s family have owned vineyards in Côte des Blancs, Champagne, since the French Revolution in the 18th century. In 1999, Pierre and his wife Sophie successfully converted the estate from conventional to biodynamic farming and the results are clear. Larmandier have a ‘minimalist’ approach using unconventional fermenting vessels, from large oak vats to amphorae. Larmandier-Bernier is still evolving and improving with each release. While the core of the wine remains pure and terroir-driven, the increase of reserve wine each year adds layers and intrigue with every new release.

Pairing guide
A truly spectacular Blanc de Blancs bursting with luxurious multi-faceted notes, this elegant Champagne is a truly wonderful addition to any celebration dinner. It’s going to work particularly well alongside lighter canapes, elegant finger foods featuring smoked salmon, caviar and goat’s cheese, and especially with shellfish and seafood prepared in any number of ways. We also love this sparkling wine with fried chicken, pork and veal dishes, raw oysters served with a citrus dressing, and egg-based recipes too.

Champagne, France
Champagne is the ultimate party starter! This sparkling wine hails from the famous chalky soils of the Champagne region in northern France and is made using a special method called "méthode champenoise" that gives it its signature bubbles. Pop open a bottle of Champagne at your next celebration and watch the good times and fizz flow! Whether you prefer a dry Brut or a sweeter Demi-Sec, there's a Champagne for every occasion. There are three main grape varieties used in the region, these are Pinot Noir (red), Pinot Meunier (also red) and Chardonnay (white). Each of these brings a unique set of characteristics to Champagne.
