Details
Diana Mary, or 'Disey' is the matriarch of Chalk Hill, and the Harvey family made this rosé for her. Made from Grenache, Dolcetto and Mourvedre grapes, this super easy wine has a crunchy, fresh style with pink grapefruit, just a little raspberry lollies, and then a crisp, snappy finish. That sweet but tangy palate makes this such an enjoyable drink - just try and stop at a glass!
The Harvey family are kind of a big deal in South Australian wine history. John Harvey arrived in Adelaide circa 1939 when it was a little town of 6000 people and became just the second person to plant grapevines north of the city of churches. Six generations and nearly 190 years later, the Harvey family continue to grow grapes and make wine at Chalk Hill in Mclaren Vale, with Tom & Jock Harvey driving the business. They're doing okay too, with Chalk Hill taking out the 'Bushing Monarch' award for best winemaker at the McLaren Vale wine show twice in the last four years, largely thanks to a swag of newer generation blends and style (especially featuring Grenache) that feel just a little bit special.

Pairing guide
Notes of grapefruit, and a little raspberry make this rose a warm weather winner of a wine, and exactly the kind of bottle we want to crack open alongside dishes of juicy prawns, seared scallops or lightly grilled or poached salmon. Chicken thighs served with a creamy sauce, pasta with bacon or other pork preparations, fresh tomato salads, Moroccan couscous salads and all kinds of ham and cheese combos will work like a charm.

Wine region

South Australia, Australia
South Australia is a wide and varied state when it comes to wine production. From the coastal regions of Limestone Coast and McLaren Vale, to the warmer inland valleys of Barossa and Eden, to the flats of Langhorne Creek, there's a range of terroirs and temperatures across this wide brown land. As a result, wines labelled with only South Australia can display a range of flavours! The state is probably best known for Shiraz, Grenache and Cab Sav in reds, and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in white. Whatever your flavour, there's plenty to explore!
