Details
This funky-looking rosé from the lads at Chaffey Bros is a sure-fire winner. With berries dominating the nose and the palate, there are some real textural layers going on that make this the next level of rosés on the serious drinking scale.
The Chaffey Bros are in fact brothers-in-law - Daniel Chaffey Hartwig and Theo Engela are the latest generation of the Chaffey family to ply their vinous trade in Australia. The name is based on their ancestors, the original Chaffey brothers, who were Canadian hydro engineers who arrived in Australia in 1886 and proceeded (along with a number of their descendants) to make an indelible mark on the Australian wine landscape. Their ethos is simple - present the vinous power, splendour and richness of the Barossa and Eden Valleys in a modern and digestible manner. So, their handmade, minimal-intervention wines come from individual parcels of low-yielding vineyards spread across the region. They are akin to wine-focussed parfumiers - discovering delicate aromatics, born from old vines, but mixed with blenders and storytellers. All in all, they're a more than welcome addition to the South Australian wine scene.

Pairing guide
Delicate and refined, Lux Venit Rosé is all about crisp red berries, citrus zest, and a whisper of spice. Its dry, fresh style makes it a perfect match for grilled prawns, salmon carpaccio, or a classic niçoise salad. It’s also excellent with charcuterie, goat cheese, or Provençal favourites like ratatouille and tapenade. For a casual option, try it with fish tacos, margherita pizza, or a fresh summer couscous salad. Serve well chilled to show off its bright, vibrant personality.
