Details
A stunning mash up of Riesling, Gewurztraminer and the little known variety Kerner, all planted in a single old vineyard in the Moculta sub-region of the Eden Valley. It offers up a riot of mandarin, chalk, ginger, crushed nuts, some orange peel and daisies. It's alive and zingy, but a little oily and has real presence. Finishes with a kick of white pepper.
The Chaffey Bros are in fact brothers-in-law - Daniel Chaffey Hartwig and Theo Engela are the latest generation of the Chaffey family to ply their vinous trade in Australia. The name is based on their ancestors, the original Chaffey brothers, who were Canadian hydro engineers that arrived in Australia in 1886 and proceeded (along with a number of their descendants) to make an indelible mark on the Australian wine landscape. Their ethos is simple - present the vinous power, splendour and richness of the Barossa and Eden Valleys in a modern and digestible manner. So, their handmade, minimal intervention wines come from individual parcels of low yielding vineyards, spread across the regions. They are akin to wine-focussed parfumiers - discovering delicate aromatics, born from old vines, but mixed with blenders and storytellers. All in all, they're a more than welcome addition to the South Australian wine scene.

Pairing guide
If there’s a better white wine out there for pairing with all of our Pan-Asian favourites, it’s hard to think of right now with this beautiful bottle in front of us! We absolutely love the balance and crispness of this stunning Riesling blend, and it’s just made for pairing with all those wonderful southeast Asian flavours, from coriander, chilli, ginger, and lime to fiery green curries, spicy tofu broths, kimchi salads, sushi and sashimi… and the list just goes on and on. It’s also great with chicken, fish, shellfish, and pork dishes, and has the versatility to pair with your favourite green salads, too. Perfection!
