Details
The ‘Blühen Punkt’ or the blossom point is made from Gewürztraminer from a single vineyard in the stunning Eden Valley. This is a highly aromatic white wine with notes of rose petals, reminiscent of Turkish Delight, and a touch of bitter phenolics, complemented by an oily texture.

The Chaffey Bros are in fact brothers-in-law - Daniel Chaffey Hartwig and Theo Engela are the latest generation of the Chaffey family to ply their vinous trade in Australia. The name is based on their ancestors, the original Chaffey brothers, who were Canadian hydro engineers who arrived in Australia in 1886 and proceeded (along with a number of their descendants) to make an indelible mark on the Australian wine landscape. Their ethos is simple - present the vinous power, splendour and richness of the Barossa and Eden Valleys in a modern and digestible manner. So, their handmade, minimal-intervention wines come from individual parcels of low-yielding vineyards spread across the region. They are akin to wine-focussed parfumiers - discovering delicate aromatics, born from old vines, but mixed with blenders and storytellers. All in all, they're a more than welcome addition to the South Australian wine scene.

Pairing guide
Perfumed and exotic, Blühen Punkt is a head-turner with its rose petal, lychee, and spice aromatics wrapped around a softly textured palate. It’s a dream pairing for aromatic and spicy dishes—think Thai red curry, Szechuan stir-fry, or Indian butter chicken. Its slight richness and floral lift also complement duck pâté, roasted pork belly, or even a ripe blue cheese. For a vegetarian match, try it with spicy pumpkin soup, roasted cauliflower with cumin, or Moroccan tagine. The wine’s aromatic profile makes every dish feel just a bit more special.
