Details
Not just a stunning bottle, this is super Moscato d'Asti (Moscato sourced from the vineyards around the town of Asti in northern Italy) comes from the renowned Ceretto winery. Crafted from biodynamically farmed grapes and wild fermented (which never happens with Moscato) this is an absolutely delicious, low-alcohol delight! It tastes like a whole bucket of fresh fruit with peach, apple, little whispers of rosewater and this grapey delight. Super pure, super refreshing and impossible to put down.

The Ceretto family has been making wine in the hills of Piedmont, northern Italy, since the 1930s. Yet this restless producer seems to have really hit top gear in the last 25 years, with a swaggering range of modern Italian wine classics. Certified organic since 2015, and with famed Australian winemaker Dave Fletcher in the winery, Ceretto has made a reputation not just on the famed Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera & Dolcetto red wines but also with delicious Arneis and a superstar moscato. The family now has four wineries in different corners of the Piedmont region, plus a Michelin-starred restaurant in the town of Alba (because winemakers need to eat).

Pairing guide
The Ceretto Moscato is unquestionably juicy and fruity, but it's more than just another sweet wine, which means you don't need to feel like this is wine only for dessert. Fresh fruit salad is an obvious choice, but what's really perfect is a classic Prosciutto e Melone (ham and melon) with its salty/sweet contrasts. Other salty aperitifs, soft cheeses and creamy dips are also excellent with this superb Moscato too.

Wine region
Piedmont, Italy
The Piedmont wine region in Italy is a magical place known for producing world-class wines. The region is bordered by the Alps to the north and the Apennine Mountains to the south, and it is characterized by rolling hills and a diverse landscape. The climate in Piedmont is generally cool and wet, with warm, dry summers and cold, snowy winters. This climate is well-suited to grape growing offering slow and steady ripening conditions which lead to high-quality and expressive wines. Piedmont is most praised for its red wines, particularly Barolo and Barbaresco, which are made from the Nebbiolo grape. Barbera and Dolcetto are other celebrated reds of the region, and as for its white wines, Arneis, Moscato d'Asti and the rare Nascetta. Piedmont is also famous for its flavorful truffles, often used in local dishes, and pair beautiful with its regional wines.
