Details
Ceretto's Arneis is one of the winery's most famous wines, with everyone loving the absolutely glorious crisp apple fresh crunch. Made from organically farmed grapes, it's about zesty citrus, lots of green apple and that trademark Arneis nutty almond edge. You really won't find a better example of what Arneis should taste like (and it's delicious).

The Ceretto family has been making wine in the hills of Piedmont, northern Italy, since the 1930s. Yet this restless producer seems to have really hit top gear in the last 25 years, with a swaggering range of modern Italian wine classics. Certified organic since 2015, and with famed Australian winemaker Dave Fletcher in the winery, Ceretto has made a reputation not just on the famed Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera & Dolcetto red wines but also with delicious Arneis and a superstar moscato. The family now has four wineries in different corners of the Piedmont region, plus a Michelin-starred restaurant in the town of Alba (because winemakers need to eat).

Pairing guide
We’re huge fans of this characterful and zesty Arneis wine here at Good Pair Days, and we just know you’re going to love sharing this with your nearest and dearest (if they’re lucky). It’s a top-tier seafood and fish-pairing wine; delicate white fish fillets, oily fish like sardines and mackerel and whole grilled snapper with plenty of lemon and parsley will all yield fantastic results. Seafood like scallops and prawns - especially if lifted by some Asian spices - are also never a bad idea, and it’s also brilliant with simple pasta classics like cacio e pepe, leafy salads and chicken or turkey risotto. Fabulous!

Wine region
Piedmont, Italy
The Piedmont wine region in Italy is a magical place known for producing world-class wines. The region is bordered by the Alps to the north and the Apennine Mountains to the south, and it is characterized by rolling hills and a diverse landscape. The climate in Piedmont is generally cool and wet, with warm, dry summers and cold, snowy winters. This climate is well-suited to grape growing offering slow and steady ripening conditions which lead to high-quality and expressive wines. Piedmont is most praised for its red wines, particularly Barolo and Barbaresco, which are made from the Nebbiolo grape. Barbera and Dolcetto are other celebrated reds of the region, and as for its white wines, Arneis, Moscato d'Asti and the rare Nascetta. Piedmont is also famous for its flavorful truffles, often used in local dishes, and pair beautiful with its regional wines.
