Crafted from a certified organic vineyard just outside the famous Barolo zone (aka Nebbiolo heartland), this beautiful red is a Goldilocks wine—it has all of the truffled cherry spice that Piedmont Nebbiolo is famous for, with just the right amount of grippy tannins. Medium bodied, super savoury and earthen, with grippy tannins, the freshness is only helped by maturation in all old oak, which means it's all fruit, all the time.
The Ceretto family has been making wine in the hills of Piedmont, northern Italy, since the 1930s. Yet this restless producer seems to have really hit top gear in the last 25 years, with a swaggering range of modern Italian wine classics. Certified organic since 2015, and with famed Australian winemaker Dave Fletcher in the winery, Ceretto has made a reputation not just on the famed Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera & Dolcetto red wines but also with delicious Arneis and a superstar moscato. The family now has four wineries in different corners of the Piedmont region, plus a Michelin-starred restaurant in the town of Alba (because winemakers need to eat).
