Details
What better way to celebrate than by popping a bottle of this spankingly-good sparkling Shiraz? And this one is special; it’s bottle-fermented and aged on its yeast lees for complexity; it’s a rich ruby red, plush and mouth-filling, with sweet red berries and blue fruits, savoury leather notes, and chewy tannins for interest. It’s a classic for a reason!
The Ceravolo family came to Australia from Calabria, in the deep south of Italy, over fifty years ago - from the Old World to a New World. A happy co-incidence that they came from the 35th north parallel in Southern Italy to the 35th south parallel in the South of Australia, where climatic conditions were similar, and thus perfect for the kind of gentle, sensitive viticulture their family had practised for generations. All the wines are estate grown, meaning the family personally tend the rows to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. The main vineyards are nestled high in the Adelaide Hills, amongst cherry orchards and a chestnut grove, again echoing life back home in Calabria. The family is Antony, Fiona, Heather and Joe Ceravolo, with Joe the driving force in the vineyard. These are faithful interpretations of classic Italian grapes, with a lovely modern Australian edge.

Bursting with flavour and elegant bubbles, it’s a real showstopper at any dining table, and will pair spectacularly with all kinds of charcuterie dishes, grilled pink lamb or duck, barbecued sausages and homemade burgers, or pork and beef tacos served with all your favourite Tex-Mex sides. A classic Christmas glazed ham will work a treat with this wine, as will veggie options like nut roast, smoky tofu skewers and bean burgers. Yum!
