Details
A pale burnished apricot colour in the glass, this rosado (Spanish for rosé) from Grenache grapes has aromas of savoury flint & toasted straw and the essence of wild strawberries. On the palate it’s dry with flavours verging on cherry crumble; it’s fleshy and super juicy, and has a lovely, intense mineral finish.

In the last decade, modern Spanish winery Casa Rojo has made a name for itself internationally, thanks to its award-winning wines of exceptional quality, as well as the brilliant, colourful artistic labels and witty names. This creative spirit imbues the wines as well as the packaging; choosing to work not just in one region, but across Spain, currently producing wines from seven different areas. In each of these carefully-chosen regions, the emphasis is on native grape varieties, limited production and capturing the essence of the particular terroir. Casa Rojo was founded in 2010 by husband and wife team José Luis Gómez and Laura Muñoz, the oenologists and directors of Casa Rojo. Their passion for the world of wine led them to embark on a wine tour of Spain with the goal of representing the most important Spanish terroirs and native grape varieties. A mixture of modernity and respect for tradition informs the decision-making, and so far is being met with success and absolutely delicious wines!

Pairing guide
Made from juicy Garnacha grapes, this elegant rose wine is going to be brilliant for pairing with a great range of delicious dishes and ingredients. We found it an especially good pairing for barbecued sausages and other cuts of pork cooked over coals, but it’s also going to be great with a seafood or mixed paella, big juicy prawns, grilled halloumi and vegetable skewers and with ham and cheese combos. Spicy Asian curries and noodle dishes will also work brilliantly!
