Details
Ca' di Alte's Prosecco tastes different. It's fresher, prettier and with more white flowers/green apple goodness than your usual Prosecco, with this flourish of acacia aromatics that makes it feel like a bouquet has landed on your doorstep. It's dry but with apple juiciness, with a finish that is so fresh and so clean.
Ca’ di Alte was created by winemaker Alberto Marchisio, a native of Piedmont who made his home in Veneto, who is now in charge of one of the biggest wineries in the region, Cantina Colli Vicentini in Montecchio Maggiore. Whilst founded in 1955, it has been during the last ten years that Alberto has dramatically improved the quality of the wines, with a focus on fruit purity and producing the highest quality grapes with the most modern technology, whilst also safeguarding local traditions. The fruit for Ca’ di Alte is grown primarily on the hills of volcanic soil south of Vicenza called the Colli Berici, where the hillside, north-facing vineyard sites ensure lower yields and optimum ripeness of the grapes, whilst preserving the delicate aromas needed for the wines. The Palladian window on the label references the work of the great Andrea Palladio, many of whose masterpieces are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The 16th century architect lived in Montecchio Maggiore and Vicenza for most of his life.

Pairing guide
This wonderful Prosecco from Ca’ di Alte is just impossible to resist, packing in mountains of character amongst all those refined and elegant bubbles. It’s the ideal light lunch or antipasti platter pairing wine, matching wonderfully with savoury pastries, spring rolls, marinated vegetables and seafood salads. It’s also excellent with sweet-and-savoury combos like prosciutto melone, stuffed dates and charcuterie boards with cured meats, cheeses and candied nuts, and will also work very well with a heaving plate of fish ‘n’ chips or southern fried chicken. What’s not to love?
